Ashraf, a baby from Tajikistan who was born with Congenitally Corrected
Transposition of the Great Arteries (CCTGA), was brought to Marengo Asia Hospitals, Faridabad. Along with a reversed lower half of the heart, both his
ventricles were at high pressure due to a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
Having high pressure in the lungs caused frequent pneumonia as well.
He first underwent a pulmonary artery band to reduce the pressure and
blood flow to the lungs. At 3 years of age, he again came back and underwent
Double Switch Surgery with closure of the VSD under the expert supervision of
Dr Rajesh Sharma, Clinical Director - Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and his team.
He has now recovered fully and returned to his home without any complications.
